This patented technology is utilized in UCG's VAULT400 Managed Service and in our single or dual vault licensed offerings.

The patent relates to a feature called Quick File Scanning, which checks for new files and any changes in existing files at the data source by comparing the hash numbers of the present data files with the hash numbers of the data files in the baseline copy.

VAULT400 is a managed service for System i users as well as Windows, Oracle, SQL, and AIX users.  For larger enterprises, VAULT400 based technology is available for licensing in a single or dual vault scenario.

VAULT400 backs up an entire organization’s business-critical data to VAULT400’s secure data center so that data is always available and accessible for immediate online recovery. The service conducts automatic backups without human intervention and lets administrators manage multiple online backup and recovery processes from a single Windows workstation. VAULT400 takes a point-in-time backup during each scheduled session, and in the event a restore is needed, VAULT400 can provide the data from any specific backup.

Other features include end-to-end encryption of data while in transit or storage, backup of only changed data blocks, optimized backups for Microsoft Exchange environments, and comprehensive reporting. In addition, the VAULT400’s iSeries Agent works in concert with VAULT400’s Director feature to protect native Objects, DB2 databases, IFS data, and system data.
